Oscar is the son of Salvadoran immigrants who settled in San Francisco’s Mission & Excelsior Districts. Steeped in the environmental justice movement, he has over 17 years of experience organizing with community members to resist a legacy of environmental and economic racism, and unhealthy urban development. His leadership skills and justice-filled determination comes from years of grassroots organizing, people of color-led progressive politics, and a solid sense of family and community. On a side note, in addition to raising four great kids, he DJ’s and tinkers on bikes.
